Term 6 greetings!

Term 6 greetings!

Somehow we have reached the final term of another school year! Time flies when you are having fun, or busy, or both!

Last term ended on a high as I attended the Bristol City Poet event at City Hall. As part of the event, a copy of The HOPE’s poetry compendium was unveiled.

The book contains winning poems from The HOPE’s Mary Palmer Prize for Poetry from 2015 to 2017. It was presented by some of our winning poets to the Mayor, Marvin Rees, the person who had been Bristol’s Poet, Miles Chambers, and the new Bristol Poet, Vanessa Kisuule. Here’s a photo taken on 25 May at the event of the three of them with The HOPE’s lovely compendium:

The compendium has been sent to all the young people and carers whose poem appears in the book, and to other people who will be interested in seeing the poems, like carers, social workers and designated teachers of the young poets.

Everyone at The HOPE really hopes that you enjoy your copy of the book. Thank you to Katherine Juniper, The HOPE’s Inclusion & Participation Lead, for all her work in getting the book published.

I hope to see lots of you at the Fun Day in July and hope that you all have a lovely Summer.
