Hey guys its Tasha and Steph. We are just letting you know what is going on with the childen in care council. We had a meeting on Monday with two of the members of the youth select committee (Alex and Natalya) to discuss some stuff about how we can link up and make sure that children in care’s views are being talked about along with other groups of young people in the city, we talked a lot about bus passes and trying to get free bus passes for children that are in care so that we can see more of our families without our foster carers having to pay.
We also talked about the pledge survey. This was promises that managers and social workers made to us a few years ago. I (tasha) signed it and the survey will be asking if people are keeping the promises they made. It’s really important that you fill out your survey when you get it. You get £10 and what you say will help make things get better for all of us.
We are getting new people joining the council at the moment and we want more, the more of us there are the more changes we can make. If you want to join you need to get in touch.
