I thought I’d bring you up to speed with what went on during the last school hols at the end of February.

You may remember me informing you about the projects that we’ve been doing with the City Museum and Art Gallery over the last year or so. Over 30 young people have been involved in 3 different projects. These have been funded by the British Museum.

Well on Monday 21st  we took 9 young people to London for a youth conference. They and other young people from five other cities around England did presentations showing what they did and produced in their particular projects. Our lot from Bristol were great.

We also took a group of year 7 and 8’s to the SS Great Britain and the Bristol Blue Aquarium. They all had a fantastic time and learnt a lot about a world famous ship and got an insight into aquatic life.

On 4th March we had an evening of circus skill at Circomedia in St Pauls.

This was put on by our local universities – UWE, Bath Spa and Bristol, it’s all to do with the Aim Higher programme of events that they do for us. Again the young people and adults who attended had a great time. We’ve got a few naturally talented people in this field it would seem.

And just to let you know our key stage 4 Learning Mentor, Angela Ryan is back, she’s been on maternity leave. Quite a few of you will already know Angela. She’s keen to get back into the swing of things.

Anyway, catch up soon and keep on achieving.
