Hi everyone, Its Craig again.
Just letting know what some of you have been up to with us recently.
Some of you will have been on university “taster day” visits with us in the past and I’m sure found them very interesting.
This year, for the first time we’ve been able to offer a residential experience at UWE for a group of year 10’s. This took place on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd June and there were 20 CiC altogether, 10 of them from Bristol, and some from South Gloucs and Wiltshire.
I was there for the day on the Tuesday and it was good to see the young people quickly getting to know new people and participating and contributing in the activities throughout the day. They had a great time in the evening playing games, doing a cooking competition and a pub quiz.
The night went by without any problems and they "graduated" on the Wednesday afternoon. All in all it seems that the time they spent there gave them a great experience.
We plan to do this again next year and we’ll let you know more details nearer the time.
You’ll be breaking up for the summer hols soon. Whatever you’re doing have a great time.
Craig – ECLAS KS3 Learning Mentor.
