Museum Project

Between December last year and March this year, Craig from ECLAS and 15 young people have been working on an exciting project with Bristol Museum. The aim of the project was for the young people to create some innovative and exciting artworks based on objects from the museum.

Some of the young people got to go to the British Museum in London, and on the London Eye. They found out all about what museums do, some of the amazing objects that they have in their collections, they also got to have a go at handling everything from a mammoths tooth to a stuffed fox!

Some of the young people produced sculptures based on objects that they had seen in the museum and others created printed bags that were sold in the shop and helped pay for a meal at Pizza Hut! The projects were good fun and gave the young people a great opportunity to do all sorts of things people don't normally get to do - from going into the museum stores to having a sneak preview of Bristol's new museum, M Shed. If you would like to find out more, arrange a visit to the museum, or talk about doing work experience at the museum, please feel free to contact Craig Barnett on 07981492024 or email - craig.barnett@bristol.gov.uk
