Spring 2010

Our Book of the Month is 'The Cat Mummy' - it will make you laugh and cry at the same time!

What's the book about?  Verity adores her cat, Mabel, and never wants to be parted from her. She is doing 'The Egyptians' at school so comes up with a great plan...Verity's dad and grandparents can't bear to talk about death, having lost Verity's mum in childbirth, but when they eventually discover what has happened, everyone learns that it's time to talk.

We'd love to hear what you've been reading...maybe you've read another fantastic Jacqueline Wilson book like 'Tracey Beaker' or 'Best friends'?

Send us your reviews of any books and we'll publish it on this page! Send your review to rvoiceonline@bristol.gov.uk

Here's what our Children's Librarian Claire thought:

'I love cats so I really enjoyed this book about Verity and her cat Mabel. It's quite sad in parts, but it's a great read and I couldn't put it down.'
