Its yours Independent Reviewing Officer's (IRO) job to make sure that there is a good plan in place for you, that you are being looked after well, and that all your needs are being met properly. If you IRO does not think that the best plan for you is in place they will talk to you and to your social worker about this to agree changes. If necessary they will talk to some of the really big bosses to get things sorted for you.
Your IRO works for Bristol City Council but they do not work for the same part as your social worker. It is their job to make sure that everyone is doing what they said they were going to do and that the plans that have been agreed with you are happening for you. Its also your IRO's job to make sure that your views and wishes have been listened to and that you are involved in making important decisions about your own life. Your IRO will want to know what you think and what you would like to see happen. Your IRO will make sure your wishes are considered and if it isn't possible to agree to what you want at times, they will make sure that the reasons why are explained to you.
You will always see your IRO at or before you review unless you don't want to, but its important to remember that you don't have to wait for your review if you you would like to speak to them about something you want to change. If you would like to speak or contact your IRO about anything click on the link of your IRO below.
Your IRO will always be pleased to hear from you and will get back to you as quickly as they can.
If you do not know who your IRO is contact Nicola Hannaford (nicola.hannaford@bristol.gov.uk) or telephone her on 0117 903 1931.
