The HOPE poetry competition and conference
I wanted to remind you that it’s not too late to send in a poem for The HOPE’s poetry competition, as long as you are quick! The topic this year is ’Space’ and the closing date is Friday 10th November.
You will find information about the competition and how to enter at http://www.rvoice.co.uk/pages/home/games-stuff/activities
Please do take part if you can, and ask your carer to write a poem too. You and they could win a prize! It’s one of the best bits of my jobs reading the poems, so please do take part.
Another big piece of news is that The HOPE held a conference for carers, school staff and social workers recently. It was about how we can all work together to help you to have a safe and successful education. We watched the film about bullying that the CiCC made a few years ago. The audience really liked the film and the worksheet. Thank you and well done to everyone involved!
We also heard from a couple of young people about their experience of being in care and their education. They have both done really well – one is studying to be a social worker and the other is a professional footballer. It was fantastic to hear from young people – thank you to the two young people who contributed to the conference this year.
I am sure that lots of you are doing good and interesting things, so why not let me know what you are up to? You can contact me via the ‘Get in Touch’ page on this website.
